Senior Executive Officer

We are looking for a Senior Executive Officer on a temporary basis until March 2021. This role will be responsible ensuring that the international capability-building work on AMR is delivered within an effective framework of governance and accountability to continue to deliver on the UK’s ambition to continue being a good global partner.

The role

This is a temporary, full-time position working Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week until March 2021 initially.

Your duties and responsibilities:

• Development and implementation of the Reference Centre vision, mission and objectives in consultation with the AMR International Engagement lead, assessing the best approach to accomplish those objectives.
• Oversight and execution of the day to day delivery of Reference Centre’s activities and workplan – ongoing monitoring and measurement of progress.
• Oversight and management of the Reference Centre governance structure and budget, including generation of regular finance updates to senior colleagues and monitoring it’s performance.
• Working closely with colleagues by attending meetings and proposing agendas, commissioning and drafting papers, drafting chairman’s brief and taking minutes, coordinating reports.
• Working with colleagues in the AMR team and the International Development Training Office to contribute to the implementation of international strategies.
• Ensuring the success of networking and building relationships relating to the work of the Reference Centre and maintain links with a supporting cast of key partners.

What you need to succeed:

Only applications with a Science-based degree will be considered, preferably within Veterinary Science or other related fields. For this role you must also have excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel and can manipulate data within it. You need to be highly organised, able to prioritise workload and have excellent communication skills.
